This Privacy Policy explains how AudioBrain (“we,” “our,” or “the Software”) collects, uses, and protects your information. We believe in privacy by design, meaning your data stays where it belongs: on your computer.
1. Information We Collect
Data Collected Locally:
The following information is stored exclusively on your Mac (e.g., in macOS UserDefaults) and is never sent to our servers:
- Trial start date (to manage your 7-day evaluation).
- License activation status.
- Your license key.
Data We Do NOT Collect:
- AudioBrain does NOT collect any personal information (name, phone number, etc.).
- AudioBrain does NOT track your usage or behavior within the app.
- AudioBrain does NOT send analytics, telemetry, or crash reports to our servers.
- AudioBrain does NOT access any files beyond those you explicitly select/open.
2. How We Use Information
The minimal data stored is used only for Trial Tracking (to determine if your trial period is active), License Validation (to verify your software is genuine), and App Preferences (to remember your settings locally via macOS).
3. Purchase Information
When you buy AudioBrain, your payment details are handled entirely by our payment processor; we never see or store your financial information. We receive only your email address to generate and send your license key.
4. File Access & Local Processing
AudioBrain only accesses audio and video files that you manually open or drag into the application. All audio processing happens locally on your Mac. No audio or video data is ever uploaded to the cloud or any external server.
5. macOS Permissions
AudioBrain may request standard macOS permissions for File Access (to read the media files you choose to process) and Network Access (used only for the one-time activation of your license key). The software functions offline after activation.
6. Data Security
All data processing is contained within your local environment. Your license key is stored securely using standard macOS system protocols.
7. Third-Party Services
Aside from our payment processor and our email provider for license delivery, we do not share data with any third parties.
8. Children’s Privacy
AudioBrain is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children.
9. Data Retention
Local data remains on your Mac until you uninstall the software and delete preference files. Purchase data (your email address) is retained for as long as your license is active to provide support and key recovery.
10. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Regardless of your location, we honor your right to request the deletion of your email address from our licensing database and your right to data minimization.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be notified via the email address associated with your license or via an in-app notice.
